St. Pete Smiles has been safely providing preventive and restorative dental care since reopening on May 4th, 2020. We have been able to reschedule and treat most of those who missed appointments during our 6 week closure, as well as welcoming new patients to our practice.
Infection control has always been a top priority to keep you safe. We continue to follow recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and State Dental guidelines for protecting both our staff and patients. We consider our dental office one of the safest places you can go right now.
You will notice a few things when you come to our office along with our already strict infection control protocols. For example:
- Our office will communicate with you ahead of your appointment to ask some screening questions. You’ll be asked those same questions again when you arrive, and we will take your temperature with a touchless thermometer. Staff will be asked the same screening questions daily and temperature taken as well.
- When entering the office, we ask that you come wearing a face covering, and to use the hand sanitizer at the front counter. HEPA filter air purifiers run in each treatment room as well as the lobby.
- We have removed the magazines and books from the reception room, as these items cannot be properly disinfected. We encourage you to bring your own iPad, book, etc.
- Should you choose, you may wait in your car and be texted when we are ready. Three seats remain in the reception area, for proper social distancing. In this regard, please do not bring companions to your appointment unless they are a medically necessary caregiver.
We are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we have taken to keep you safe. Please call our office at 727-343-0824 to make an appointment.
